Sunday February 2, 2020 – The Presentation of our Lord in the Temple
This is a light to reveal God to the nations and the glory of his people Israel. Luke 2.32
Blessed are you, Lord our God, for you have sent us our salvation. Inspire us by your Holy Spirit to recognize Him who is the glory of Israel and the light for all nations, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Jesus shall reign where’er the sun doth it’s successive journeys run; his kingdom stretch from shore to shore, till moons shall wax and wane no more. (Isaac Watts)
Almighty God, accept the joyful praise of your people and grant that your Son may shine in our hearts, a light to shine in every nation, throughout the whole world in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lord Jesus, be Light and Love amidst the peoples of the world in these difficult days when sadness, sickness, bereavement, sorrow and death are all about us. Comfort those who mourn, give us daily strength for our daily living, that we may reach out in your name to comfort and love those who are in the midst of sorrow and death. Lord Jesus, be our strength and our salvation Amen.
God of all the nations, unite us with your peace and love that we may be your holy healing hands of grace and love. Let your knowledge and strength shine in the minds of Doctors, Nurses, and Leaders of Nations of the World, that your light may be seen, your truth spoken, your love shared, and your name honoured through all the world. Amen
Almighty God, as the day light begins to stretch out into the darkness of the night – so help us to reach out and express your love in the world. Give to all people daily strength for daily living, and the courage to express your love in the world of darkness, through Jesus Christ our light and our salvation. Amen.
Rise up and shine! let the Glory of the Lord be seen, known and expressed through you.
