Saturday Prayers: July 29th – 30th 2017
A Prayer to say each day in this time of crisis:
Heavenly Father we reach out to you with a plea for The Peace of Jerusalem, the center of the world, the center of our faith; may it be the center of love and peace, the gathering place of the nations, as we relate to you and to each other. We pray for all places where terrorism, violence, warfare and acts of inhumanity are taking place. Guard, protect, direct and gather us into one great family; that we may worship you in peace and live together in Holy love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Eighth Sunday after Pentecost
Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. John 6.68
O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy, increase and, multiply upon us your mercy, that with you as our ruler and guide, we may pass through things temporal, and loose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, every tongue confess him King of glory now; ‘tis the Father’s pleasure we should call him Lord, who from the beginning was the might word. (Caroline Maria Noel)
We pray for all who confess the name of Christ: Lord, fill us with the power of your Holy Spirit that we may serve you without fear and proclaim the love of God our Father in Heaven.
We pray for all whose lives are in danger: victims of fire, flood and disaster; war, terrorism, cruelty, and inhumanity. Walk with them Lord and give them courage and strength.
We pray for all who serve to defend us and keep us safe in these troubles times. Lord, protect and support them.
Lord, give us strength and courage in our daily living for you are our strength and our salvation. Amen.
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
