 In Prayers

Second Sunday after Epiphany

We have found the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who brings us truth and grace.  John 1.

Almighty God, Your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ is the Light of the World.  May your people, illumined by your word and sacraments, shine with the radiance of his glory, that he may be known, worshipped and obeyed to the ends of the earth, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Lord, the light of your love is shining,
In the midst of the darkness shining;
Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us;
Set us free by the truth you now bring us,
Shine on me, shine on me.
Jesus shine, fill the land with the Father’s glory;
Blaze, Spirit blaze, set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy,
Send forth your word Lord, and let there be light.

Almighty God from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed, kindle we pray in the hearts and minds of all people, the love of thy peace. Guide, we pray, the leaders of the nations, and peoples of the earth, with the true love of peace.

May we all cast out the terror of evil and warfare, and live in unity and peace to the Glory of your Name. Amen.

In these troubled times – Pray daily and always for THE PEACE OF THE WORLD.

We pray for the families and friends of those killed in the recent shooting down of the passenger aircraft over Iran, and the killing of innocent people in the act of warfare.

Give us all strength and courage to live on and move forward day by day in the strength of your love, peace and eternal salvation.

Lord Jesus, abide with us in the dangers and troubles of this life and bring us finally to your Eternal Kingdom of love and peace. Amen.

Lord Jesus, give us all strength and courage to live peaceable with each other, day by day, to the benefit of the world, and the Glory of your Name. Amen.

O Christ, the great foundation on which your people stand, to preach your true salvation in every age and land, pour out your Holy Spirit to make us strong and pure, to keep the faith unbroken as long as worlds endure. Amen. (Timothy Tingfang Lew)
