Holy Cross Day, 2019
Saturday, September 14th – Holy Cross Day
Far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ . Galatians 6.14
Almighty God, whose Son our Saviour Jesus Christ was lifted high upon the cross that he might draw the whole world to himself, may we who rejoice in the mystery of our redemption, have grace to take up our cross and follow him, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim till all the world adore his sacred name. (George William Kitchen)
Sunday September 15th – The 14th Sunday after Pentecost
A new commandment I give unto you , that you love one another as I have loved you. John 13.34.
Almighty God you call us to witness that in Christ we are reconciled to you. Help us to proclaim the good news of your love through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God, now and for ever. Amen.
The trumpets sound, the angels sing, the feast is ready to begin , the gates of heaven are open wide, Jesus welcomes you inside. Sing songs of thankfulness, and praise, revel in heaven’s love and light. (from the hymn by Graham Kendrick)
We support in love, prayer and offering the people of the Bahamas and the Eastern Coast of The United Sates and Canada, whose lives and livelihood has been damaged and destroyed by Hurricane Dorian.
Gracious God, the comfort and support of all who sorrow, the strength of all who suffer, hear the cry of those who are in distress, homeless , in need, whose lives and livelihood have been destroyed. Jesus Strong Son of God Rise up among us and help us all to love and support each other, and to restore the beauty of your creation; Lord Jesus, be with us and work through us. Amen.
Blessings,
