 In Prayers

Third Sunday of Easter

Lord Jesus, open to us the scriptures, make our hearts burn within us while you speak. Luke 24. 32.

O God, your Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread. Open the eyes of our faith, that we may see him in his redeeming work, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

I know that my Redeemer lives, O that sweet joy this sentence gives! He lives, he lives, who once was dead; He lives, my ever living Head. He lives to bless me with his love, and still he pleads for me above; He lives to raise me from the grave, and me eternally to save. ( Rev. Samuel Medley )

God of loving care, you spread before us the table of life, and give us the cup of salvation to drink. Keep us always in the fold of your Son Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Shepherd, King. Alleluia. Amen.

Lord Jesus, we pray for those who are suffering from the pain and anguish of the world, torn by the inhumanity of those who do not know the love of your life giving healing grace; the abused, the abandoned, prisoners and captives, refugees, those injured in accidents and in situations beyond their own control. Comfort and those who mourn the death of loved ones, lay your holy, healing hands upon us all and give us grace to live together united by your love and grace. Amen.

We pray for the leaders of the nations of the world, for the United Nations Organization, and for all organizations that serve and give leadership in the world in these difficult days. Draw your creation together O Lord into one great family of disciples, together serving you in spirit and in truth, expressing your love and peace.

Walk with us Lord, open our eyes and our hearts to your presence, like as you walked with your disciples on the road to Emmaus.

Creator of all, you wash away our sins in the water of baptism; You give us new birth by the Spirit; You redeem us in the Blood of Christ. As we celebrate these forty days of Resurrection, renew your gift of life within us. We pray in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ the Risen Lord.

Alleluia. Alleluia. Amen.

Blessings,
