Saturday Prayers: April 7th – 8th, 2018

 In Prayers

Second Sunday of Easter

Have you believed, Thomas, because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe. John 20.29

Almighty God the strength of those who believe and the hope of those who doubt, may we, who have not seen, have faith and receive the fullness of Christ’s blessing, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

No more we doubt you, glorious Prince or Life: what is life without you? Aid us in our strife. Make us more than conquerors through your deathless love; bring us safe through Jordan to our home above. Yours be the glory risen, conquering, Son: endless is the victory over death you won. (Edmond Louis Budry )

Monday, April 9th The Annunciation of our Lord to the Blessed Virgin Mary (transferred from March 25th because of Holy Week)

The word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory. John 1. 14

Pour your grace into our hearts, O Lord, that we who have known the incarnation of your Son Jesus Christ announced by an Angel to the Virgin Mary, may by his cross and passion be brought to the glory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Heavenly Father we pray that our risen Saviour may fill us with the joy of his holy and life-giving resurrection. That isolated and persecuted churches and people may find fresh strength in the Easter Gospel. That he may grant us humility to be subject to one another in Christian love. That war’s may cease through all the earth and that we may live in love and peace. That he may reveal the light of His presence to the weak, the sick, and the dying, that they may be comforted and strengthened by His love. That we may bear faithful witness to his resurrection. Hear us, Lord of Glory. Amen

Jesus Lives! Alleluia! Amen. And because he lives, we shall live also. Alleluia. Amen.

Blessings,
