Saturday Prayers: Ascension Sunday
Ascension Sunday
Go and make disciples of all nations. I am with you to the close of the age. Matthew 28. 19-20
Almighty God, your Son Jesus Christ ascended to the throne of heaven that he might rule over all things as Lord. Keep us all in the unity of the Spirit and in the bond of his peace, and bring the whole of creation to worship at his feet, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Hail the day that sees Him rise, to his throne above the skies; Alleluia! Christ, the Lamb for sinner given, enters now the highest heaven! Alleluia! Grant our hearts may thither rise seeking thee above the skies. Alleluia. Amen!
We give thanks to God for those who have recovered from the Covid 19 Virus, and pray for God’s Holy Healing Hands to be laid upon those still suffering, and those who minister to them of God’s healing grace – the doctors, nurses, personal care workers, families, and friends; Lord give them grace, strength and courage to do your will and may your Holy, Healing Hands of Blessing and Peace be upon us all. Amen.
Thy touch, O Lord, has still its ancient power, hear us in this solemn hour, in thy mercy heal us all. (Adapted from the hymn by Canon Henry Twells)
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom then shall I fear ? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27 verse 1)
The Lord says,
I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU DESOLATE; I WILL COME TO YOU. John 14. 18.
Almighty God, you have exalted your Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven. Mercifully give us faith to know and to love you. As he promised, he abides with us on earth to the end of time; He is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.
Eternal God, may we who share Christ’s presence be one with him as he is one with you, Jesus Christ our Risen, Ascended Lord. Amen.
Go forth into the world in peace, be of good cheer, hold fast that which is good, render to no one, evil for evil, love and serve The Lord and the God of Peace will be with you. Amen.
Blessings,
