Saturday Prayers: August 12th – 13th 2017

 In Prayers

“Through all the changing scenes of life” at all times and in all places, walk with us Lord, for the journey is great. Let us put our hands in the Hand of God.

Pray for peace, in places where there is no peace: Beginning in the Holy City of Jerusalem and spreading out through all places where terror, warfare and evil exists – right into your own heart and mind.

Pray for the peace of the world – pray for the peace in your life.

Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed kindle we pray in the hearts of all people a true love of peace. Guide with your pure and peaceable wisdom the Leaders of the Nations; protect and keep safe those who serve to defend us; fill the hearts and minds of all people with the love and the experience of your peace; may your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven; hasten the time when war shall be no more, and the peoples of the earth live together to the glory of your name; this we pray through Jesus Christ our Lord, the Prince of Peace and the Author of our Salvation, Amen.

“Lord, let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.”

Sunday, August 13th – Tenth Sunday of Pentecost

I wait for the Lord in his word is my hope. Psalm 130 verse 4

Almighty God, you sent the Holy Spirit to be the life and light of the world. Open our hearts to the riches of your grace, that we may bring forth the fruit of the Spirit in love, joy, hope and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Tuesday, August 15th – St, Mary the Virgin

Hail, O favoured one, the Lord is with you! The Holy Spirit will come upon you. Luke 1 28-35

O God, you have taken to yourself the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of your incarnate Son. May we who have been redeemed by his blood, share with her in the glory of your eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

O Lord my God, let me live this day, and every day, to the Glory of your Name; may I express in all I do and say your love and care. Give me the skill to accomplish what is necessary to express your creative spirit for the benefit of humanity, that all may share the in the plan you have laid before us, and in the talent you have invested in me. Lord, let your thoughts be in me, and may your love expressed in all I do and say, to the glory of your name. Amen

Blessings,
