 In Prayers

12th Sunday After Pentecost

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart. Matthew, 11.29

Author and Giver of all good things, graft in our hearts the love of thy name, increase in us true religion, nourish us in all goodness , and of your great mercy keep us in the same ; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen .

Jesus shall reign where’ er the sun, doth its successive journey’s run; his kingdom stretch from shore to shore, till moons shall wax and wane no more. ( Issac Watts )

This is Labour Day Week-end and we pray for the workers and industries of our communities and country, for those who labour with their hands, bodies, and minds.

O Lords Jesus Christ, who in your early life did share in the work of the community , hallow the work of our hands and minds. Bless we pray the Industries and workers of our Communities. Give us pride in whatever they are called to do and a just reward for our labours and may your Blessing be upon us all. Amen.

As a new season of teaching and learning begins within our Homes, Schools, Colleges and Universities , we pray your Blessing upon family life, upon parents, upon all who teach and all who learn.

Give us patience, wisdom, skill, grace , understanding, a reverence for truth, a desire for knowledge, and the ability to increase in stature of mind and body for the betterment of humanity, the community, the country, the world, and to the Glory of your Name. Amen.

Spirit of the living God, move among us all. Make us one in heart and mind, make us one in love, humble, caring, self-less , sharing, Spirit of the living God, fill our lives with love. (Michael Baughen)

Blessings,
