Saturday Prayers: Christmas, 2019

 In Prayers

Saturday, December 21st – St. Thomas the Apostle (The 65th Anniversary of my Ordination)

Almighty and everliving God , who for the more confirmation of the faith did suffer the holy Apostle Thomas to be doubtful in thy Son’s resurrection: Grant us so perfectly, and without doubt, to believe in thy Son Jesus Christ, that our faith in thy sight may be reproved. Hear us, O Lord, through the same Jesus Christ, to whom, with thee and the Holy Spirit, be all honour and glory, now and for evermore. Amen.

Sunday, December 22nd – The Fourth Sunday of Advent

A virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel: God with us. Matthew 1. 23

Heavenly Father, who chose the Virgin Mary, full of grace, to be the mother of our Lord and Saviour, now fill us with your grace, that we in all things may embrace your will and rejoice in our salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Lo, he comes with clouds descending, once for favoured sinners slain, thousand thousand saints attending swell the triumph of his train, Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah., Christ appears on earth again.

Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall come to all people, for to you is born this day, A SAVIOUR, CHRIST THE LORD. Luke .2 10-11.

Almighty God , you wonderfully created, and yet more wonderfully restored our human nature. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, may thy prosper that love thee. Generous Creator, in faith and joy, we celebrate the Birth of your Son, Jesus Christ – Increase in us an understanding of your love and the riches of your grace revealed in him who is Lord now and forever.
