Saturday Prayers: December 28th – 29th, 2019

 In Prayers

In the Octave of Christmas

How far is it to Bethlehem? Not very far. Will He know we have come to worship Him?  Yes, because God so loved the world That gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have Everlasting Life.

Saturday, December 28 – We remember The Holy Innocents, The children killed by Herod as he sought The Christ Child.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father whose children suffered at the hands of Herod. Receive, we pray,  all innocent victims into the arms of your mercy.  By thy great might frustrate the evils of the world  and establish  your reign of justice, love and peace.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you and The Holy Spirit one God, now and forever.  Amen.

First Sunday after Christmas  –  December 29th

Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart, Colossians 3. 15

Almighty God, you have shed upon us the new light of your Incarnate Word. May this light, enkindled in our hearts, shine forth in our lives, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God, now and forever.  Amen.

God spoke of old through the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us through His Son. –  Hebrews 1. 1-2.

The New Year – January 1st, 2020

Happy New Year – May God’s Blessings of Peace be with you.

Father, let me dedicate all this year to thee. In whatever worldly state Thou would have me be.  May this alone be my prayer, Glorify thy name. Amen.

O Immortal Lord God, who inhabits eternity, and has brought us to the beginning of another year: Pardon, we beseech thee, our transgressions in the past, blest to us this New  Year, and graciously abide with us all the days of our life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.   Amen.

In this New Year pray earnestly for The Peace of the World Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed, Kindle we pray in the  hearts of all people, the true love of  Thy  peace.

Guide with thy true and peaceable wisdom the Nations of the earth, that in peace and unity we may live in the wisdom of thy love, Through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Happy New Year and may the Blessings of God be upon you – Amen.

Blessings,

nnDnn Archdeacon Ron Matthewman, Vicar General Emeritus
