Saturday Prayers: February 16th – 17th, 2019
Sixth Sunday After Epiphany
A great prophet has arisen among us! God has visited his people! Luke 7. 16
Almighty and ever living God, whose son Jesus Christ healed the sick and restored them to wholeness of life, look with compassion on the anguish of the world, and by your power make whole all peoples and nations; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Dear God, compassionate and kind, forgive our foolish ways. Recloth us in our rightful mind, in purer lives thy service find, in deeper reverence, praise, in deeper reverence, praise. Drop thy still dews of quietness till all our strivings cease; Take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of thy peace. (John Greenleaf Whittler)
Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed: Kindle, we pray thee, in the hearts and minds of all people the true love of peace. Guide with thy pure and peaceable wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth; that in peace and quietness thy kingdom may go forward till the earth is filled the the knowledge of thy love; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the Prince of Peace and the author of our salvation. Amen.
Heavenly Father, who through thy Son Jesus Christ has promised to them that seek first thy kingdom of righteousness all things necessary for our bodily sustenance: Bless us, we pray, in these times of turbulent weather patterns with strength and courage to fulfill our tasks in your care, day by day. Amen.
Taught by the Word of God, we pray for all people in their daily life and work; for peace in every land and in the hearts and minds of all people. May we live and work together for the benefit and unity of all. We pray for the sick, the weak and the dying that all may know the love of Jesus and be aware of His Holy Healing Hands upon them. Give wisdom, courage and strength to those who lead the nations of the earth, that thy will may be done on earth as it is in heaven. And may all people see and know the Glory of the Lord is within them. Amen.
Blessings,
