 In Prayers

7th Sunday After Epiphany

The Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor and release to captives. Luke 4.18

Almighty God, your Son Jesus Christ, revealed in signs and miracles the wonder of your saving love. Renew your people with your heavenly grace, and in all our weakness sustain us by your mighty power, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou biddst me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, thy love unknown has broken every barrier down, now to be thine, yea thine alone, O lamb of God, I come, I come. (Charlotte Elliott)

Gracious Lord, your mercy encompasses all of creation. Help us to be instruments of your redemptive power so that in our lives we may extend your healing hand to the world. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer.

Holy God, you brought life out of death, joy out of sorrow and hope out of anguish. Leads us to your dominion of justice and peace. Lord Jesus, hear our prayer.

Defend us O Lord, with your heavenly grace that we may continue thine for ever, and daily increase in your Holy Spirirt more and more, until we come into your everlasting kingdom. Amen.

O Lord, support us all the day long of this troublous life, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes, the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over, and our work on earth is done. Then Lord, in thy mercy grant us a safe lodging, a quiet night, a holy rest, and peace at the last; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessings,
