Saturday Prayers: February 24th – 25th, 2018
The Second Sunday in Lent
I do not glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Galatians 6.14
Almighty God, whose Son was revealed in majesty before he suffered death upon the cross, give us faith to perceive his glory, that being strengthened by his grace we may be changed into his likeness, from glory to glory; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Sister, brother, let me be your servant, let me be as Christ to you; pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant too. We are pilgrims on a journey, fellow travellers on the road, we are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load. I will hold the Christ light for you in the night time of your fear; I will hold my hand out for you, speak the peace you long to hear. (Richard Gillard.)
Almighty and everlasting God, receive our prayers which we offer before you as members of our Sacred Order of Jerusalem, that in our pilgrimage of faith we may truly and devoutly serve you, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Kindle we pray in every heart the love of your peace; Guide with your wisdom those who lead the nations of the earth; Help us to live with justice and peace beginning in our family life, going through to our community, into our nation and on into the world.
Let us minister to the poor, the weak, the hungry, the oppressed, the sick, the dying; and all who mourn. Lead us to serve those in need of care and protection, refugees, those who have lost the power to love and those who live without faith and hope. Lord, give us the strength to serve others has you have served us. Amen.
Last week’s Saturday Prayers had already been sent out when the tragic events of The School shootings in Parkdale, Florida took place. I am sure you have all had the people and situation in your daily prayers. Let us now Remember the families, friends and people of Parkdale in our Prayers.
Lord we pray for your people of Parkdale School and area. Draw those who died into you Heavenly Kingdom, heal the injured, comfort the bereaved and restore with your comforting peace and love to that community. Lord Jesus, You are Resurrection, you give life and Life Eternal. Rise up strong Son of God in the hearts and minds of all people and give them strength and courage to live in this new day. Amen
We thank you, Lord, for the blessings of your presence. Live in us that we may live with you. We will exalt you, O God our King; and praise your name forever; Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the Glory. for ever and ever . Amen.
WALK IN LOVE AS CHRIST ALSO HATH LOVED US
