Saturday Prayers: February 3rd – 4th, 2018
Fifth Sunday After Epiphany
I am the light of the world, says the Lord. Those who follow me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8 – 12
Merciful Lord, grant to your faithful people pardon and peace, that we may be cleansed from all our sins and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Dear Lord, and Father of mankind, forgive our foolish ways! Re-clothe us in our rightful mind; in purer lives thy service find, in deeper reverence, praise. Drop thy still dews of quietness, till all our strivings cease: Take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of thy peace. ( John Greenleaf Whittier)
O Lord, who hast taught us that all our doings without love are worth nothing: Send your Holy Spirit, and pour into pour hearts that most excellent gift of love, the very bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whosoever liveth is counted dead before thee. Grant this for thine only Son Jesus Christ sake. Amen
Lord Jesus, give us grace, strength and courage to build peace in this world: Lord grant us your peace. Open our eyes to a fresh vision of your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven: Lord grant us your peace.
Merciful Saviour, who did love Martha and Mary and Lazarus, hallowing their home with thy sacred presence: Bless, we beseech thee, our homes, that thy love may rest upon us and thy presence may always be with us. May we grow in grace and in the knowledge of thee, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Teach us to love one another as you have loved us; help us to share each other’s burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ; in whose name we pray. Amen.
Go forth into the world in peace, be of good cheer, hold fast that which is good. Render to know one evil for evil, love and serve The Lord and the peace of God will be with you. Amen.
Blessings,
