Saturday Prayers: February 8th – 9th, 2020
Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany
I am the Light of the World, says the Lord. Those who follow me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8.12
Merciful Lord. Grant to your faithful people pardon and peace, that we may be cleansed from all our sins and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Christ whose glory fills the skies, Christ the true, the only light, Sun of Righteousness, arise! Triumph o’er the shades of night: Day-spring from on high, be near; Day-star, in my heart appear. More and more thy self display, shining to the perfect day. (Charles Wesley.)
We continue to remember in our prayers those stricken with the Coronavirus and those who minister to them of God’s healing grace.
Heavenly Father lay your Holy Healing Hands of Blessing and Peace upon the sick, the weak and the dying, and those who minister to them. Give courage and strength to their families and friends, knowledge and strength to Doctor’s and Nurses, and protect us all with your loving care; through Jesus Christ our help and our salvation. Amen.
In these cold, dark days of winter when storms rage about us and the days are dark and dreary, give us courage and strength for our daily living and the ability to minster and care for family, friends, neighbours, and those in need of care and protection. Lord Jesus, be our strength and our salvation. Amen.
The Prayer of St.Teresa of Avalon
Let nothing disturb you, Let nothing frighten you, All things are passing away; God never changes. Patience obtains all things, whoever has God, lacks nothing. God alone suffices. Amen.
Blessings,
