 In Prayers

5th Sunday after Epiphany

I am the light of the world, says the Lord. Those who follow me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8. 12.

Merciful Lord, grant to your faithful people pardon and peace, that we may be cleansed from all our sins and serve with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, I am this dark world’s light, look unto me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy day be bright. I looked to Jesus and I found in him my star, my sun, and in that light of life I walk till travelling days be done. (Horatius Bonar)

Have mercy upon us, most merciful God, in your compassion forgive our sins, known and unknown, things done and things left undone, and so uphold us by your Spirit that we may live and serve you in newness of life, to the honour and glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord, our rock and our salvation. Amen.

Ruler of heaven and earth, you sent your Son, Jesus Christ to be the Redeemer of the world, by raising him from the dead you give us life and life eternal. Lord Jesus show us the power of your redeeming love and bring us to share in your eternal kingdom, through Jesus Christ our lord. Amen.

Hear our prayers, O Lord our God, in times of sorrow and in times of joy, walk with us Lord in our daily living.

Guide the leaders of the nations in the way of peace and justice.

Comfort and sustain the sick, the weak and the dying, that all may know your love and peace.

Keep us all, in safety, protect and guide us in our daily living, and help us to love and respect all people.

Help us Lord to love and care for those who are in need, the sick in body and in mind, prisoners and captives, refugees, and all who are in need of guidance, Lord, show to all your love, mercy and forgiveness.

Dear Lord, grant us your peace, in our hearts and minds, in the community, in the nation and in the world, help us to live together to the Glory of your Name. Amen.

Blessings,
