 In Prayers

Third Sunday after Epiphany

The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the Gospel. Mark 1. 15

Almighty God, by grace alone you call us and accept us in your service. Strengthen us by your Spirit, and make us worthy of your call;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Jesus calls us! O’er the tumult of our life’s wild restless sea, day by day his sweet voice soundeth, saying, Christian, follow me!” Jesus calls us from the worship of the vain world’s golden store, from each idol that would keep us, saying “Christian, love me more”. Jesus calls by thy mercies, Saviour, may we hear thy call, give our hearts to thine obedience, serve and love the best of all. (Cecil Frances Alexander)

Lord Jesus, help us all people to renounce the evil powers of the world which corrupt and destroy are way of life and turn us against each other.
Let us put our trust and confidence in your grace and mercy and share your love with all people. Open our hearts to your grace and truth that we may to live to the glory of your Name. Amen.

We pray for the peace of the world, that turmoil may cease. Gracious Lord, hear our prayer. We pray for the leaders of the nations, and all who serve in positions of authority. Gracious Lord, hear our prayer. We pray for every member of our community of faith, that we may recognize the gifts we have received and use them wisely for the good of all.

Gracious Lord, hear our prayer. And may the Peace of God be within us. Amen.

Blessings,

nnDnn Archdeacon Ron Matthewman, Vicar General Emeritus
