Saturday Prayers: January 27th – 28th 2018

 In Prayers

Fourth Sunday after Epiphany

Jesus went about Galilee, teaching, preaching and healing every disease. Matthew 4. 23.

Living God in Christ you make all things new. Transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace, and in the renewal of our lives make known your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

New every morning is the love, our wakening and uprising prove; through sleep and darkness safely brought, restored to life and power and thought. New mercies each returning day, hover around us as we pray; new perils past, new sins forgiven, new thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven. (John Keeble)

Friday, February 2nd – The Presentation of Christ in the Temple

This is a light to reveal God to the nations and the glory of the people of Israel. Luke 2. 32

Blessed are you Lord our God, for you have sent us our salvation. Inspire us by your Holy Spirit to recognize him who is the glory of Israel and the light of the nations, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Tell out my soul the glories of his word! Firm in his promise, and his mercy sure, Tell out my soul, the greatness of the Lord to children’s, children and forever more. Amen.

Jerusalem: The City of David, the shepherd king, the singer of Israel’s psalms of praise. Praise the Lord O my soul; and all that is within me praise His holy Name. Jerusalem: Where Solomon built the Temple for the worship of God. I was glad when they said unto me; let us go into the House of the Lord.

Jerusalem: Where the infant Jesus was offered to God in the Temple. A light to the nations and the glory of Israel. Jerusalem: Where the boy Jesus lingered in his Father’s House. Lover of children; Bless the children of Jerusalem and the children of the world. Jerusalem: The City over which Jesus wept. How often would I have gathered thy children; O Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Jerusalem: Not knowing the things that belong to peace. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem may they prosper that love thee. Jerusalem, Amen and Amen.
