 In Prayers

Sixth Sunday after Pentecost

My word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it. Deuteronomy 30. 14

Almighty God, you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you. May we find peace in your service, and in the world to come, see you face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Lord, we hear your word with gladness: you have spoken, we rejoice; words of love and life and freedom, help us make their truth our choice! Now in holy celebration for your word we worship you; spoken, written, known in Jesus, ours to-day to prove anew. (Margret Clarkson)

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth.

Lord, may we in this time of prayer be still and know that you are God. We thank you for past days, bless to us now your vision of the future: Days of peace on earth and goodwill to all. Help us to move forward in your Name, rejoicing in the good land which you have given us, and living according to your will. Day by day fill us with your presence that we may serve you without fear to the Glory of your name. Amen.

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might heaven and earth are full of your Glory. Hosanna in the highest heaven

Heavenly Father, help us to look with love and pity upon those of this world who live in the midst of injustice, fear, war, terror, disease, hunger, danger and with death as their constant companion. Have mercy upon them and help us to eliminate cruelty wherever it is found, to establish peace, and to live together as one great family, through Jesus Christ our Lord and to the Glory of you Name. And to this we say Amen, Amen, and Amen.

O Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me; break me, melt me, mould me, fill me, Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me.
