Saturday Prayers: July 1st – 2nd 2017
On July 1st, 2017 in Canada we are celebrating CANADA DAY 150
The Grand Priory of Canada congratulates our Leaders and people and is proud to serve our Country and its people in Spiritual, Social Service and Educational Projects in Canada and the World. HAPPY 150th BIRTHDAY We invite you to PRAY with us and for us: If any serve me, the Father will honour them. John 12. 26 Almighty God, whose wisdom and whose love is over all, accept the prayers we offer for our nation. Give Integrity to its citizens and wisdom to those in authority, that harmony and justice may be secured in obedience to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
And for those who live in other Countries we say a Prayer of Blessing upon them Heavenly Father, bless our neighbour Countries and people, may we relate to each other in freedom and love. Bless and guide their Leaders and people that we may all live in peace and enjoy the blessings of your presence; through Jesus Christ our lord. Amen.
Sunday July 2nd: Fourth Sunday after Pentecost
You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, declare the wonderful deeds of Him who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light 1. Peter 2. 9
Almighty God you have taught us through your Son that love fulfills the law. May we love you with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, and all our strength, and love our neighbour as ourselves; through Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
And we continue our prayers for those who live in distress and are tormented by the fears and dangers of the world:
Dear Lord, compassionate and kind forgive our foolish ways. Re-clothe us in our rightful mind, in purer lives thy service find, in deeper reverence praise, O still small voice of calm. (John Greenleaf Whittler)
Lord, you know our needs before we ask; in you we find daily strength for our daily living. Lord grant that we may live together in peace and harmony respecting each other’s needs and sharing the beauty of your creation. Lord, walk with us, comfort those who mourn, guide those who are in positions of authority, protect those who are in danger, give courage and strength to those who serve to protect us, and help us to live in peace.
These prayers we offer saying together:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
Blessings,
