Saturday Prayers: July 20th – 21st, 2019

 In Prayers

6th Sunday after Pentecost

My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord, I know them and thy follow me. John 10.27

Almighty God, your Son has opened for us a new and living way into your presence. Give us pure hearts and constant wills to worship you in spirit and in truth; through Jesus Christ our lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

Spirit of the living God, move among us all; make us one in heart and mind, make us one in love; humble, caring selfless, sharing, Spirit of the living God, fill our hearts with love. Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me. Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me, Spirit of the living God, fall a fresh on me. (Michael Baughen)

Monday, July 22nd – St. Mary Magdalene

Almighty God, whose Son restored Mary Magdalene to health of mind and and body, and called her to be a witness to his resurrection, forgive us and heal us by your grace, that we may serve you in the power of his risen life; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and for ever. Amen.

Friday, July 25th – St. James the Apostle

Almighty God, we remember today your servant James, the first apostle to give his life for faith in Jesus Christ. Pour on all your people that spirit of self-denying service which is the mark of true leadership. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Gathering all our cares into one, let us pray as our our Saviour taught us, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. FOR THE KINGDOM, THE POWER, AND THE GORY ARE YOURS NOW AND FOR EVER. AMEN.

The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. BLESSED IS THE LORD, OUR STRENGTH AND OUR SALVATION.

Blessings,

nnDnn Archdeacon Ron Matthewman, Vicar General Emeritus
