Saturday Prayers: June 16th – 17th, 2018
4th Sunday After Pentecost
Quietly accept the message planted in your hearts, it can bring you salvation. James 1.21
Lord Jesus, without you we are not able to please you. Mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; Jesus Christ is more than Lord of heaven and earth; He is alive and reigns within you, and with the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
In simple trust like theirs who heard, beside the Syrian sea, the gracious calling of the Lord, let, us like them, without a word, rise up and follow thee. Drop thy still dews of quietness till all our strivings cease, take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of thy peace. (John G. Whittier)
Wednesday, June 20th – World Refugee Day
Gracious God, help us to see beyond ourselves, into the hearts and minds of multitudes of people who are lost in the wilderness of life, banished from their homeland, by those who claim dominion over them; keep us together as one great family, created in your image, living out your word in truth, love and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the author and finisher of our faith. Amen.
Abba, Father, I thank you for bringing me into this new day; for past blessings, for daily strength for my daily livening; Help me to know you more clearly, to love you more dearly and to follow you more closely, that the remaining days of my life may be filled with the beauty of your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
If you don’t have the time to say “Amen Lord”, at the beginning and end of each new day – then you are too busy!
Blessings,
nnDnn Archdeacon Ron Matthewman, Vicar General Emeritus
