 In Prayers

The Day of Pentecost

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful people, and kindle in us the fire of your love.

Almighty and everlasting God, who fulfilled the promises of Easter by sending us your Holy Spirit and opening to every race and nation the way of life eternal, keep us in the unity of your Spirit, that every tongue may tell, of your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Breathe on me, breath of God, fill me with life anew, that I may love what thou dost love and do what thou wouldst do. Breathe on me, breath of God, until my heart is pure, until my will is one with thine to do and to endure. Breathe on me breath of God, so shall I never die, but live with thee the perfect life of thine eternity. (Edwin Hatch)

Come Holy Spirit, come, and renew in us the right spirit. Come Holy Spirit, power from on high make us agents of peace and ministers of wholeness. Amen

Holy God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, kindle we pray in the hearts of all people the true love of peace, and guide with your pure and peaceable wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth, that justice and peace may increase until the earth is filled with the knowledge of your love; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lord we pray that the Power of Pentecost may be fulfilled in us. That we may be of one accord, united in spirit and in truth, one body in Christ Jesus, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, to the Glory of God the Father. Amen.

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth. You alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father Amen.

Amen, Amen, and Amen.
