Saturday Prayers: June 8th – 9th, 2019
The Day of Pentecost
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful; and kindle in us the fire of your love.
Almighty and everlasting God, who fulfilled the the promises of Easter, by sending us your Holy Spirit and opening to every race and nation the way of life eternal, keep us in the unity of your Spirit, that every tongue may tell of your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
Giver of life, in fulfilment of your promise, pour forth your Spirit upon us, leading us into all truth. Give us power to proclaim your Gospel to all nations. Let the Spirit you bestow on your people continue to work in the world, to proclaim the Glory of your name through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Let there be light, let there be understanding, let all the nations gather, let them be face to face.
Come, Holy Spirit, creator, renew the face of the earth. Come, Holy Spirit, counsellor,
touch our lips that we may proclaim your word.
Come, Holy Spirit, power from on high:
make us agents of your love and peace
Come, Holy Spirit, breath of God,
give life to the dry bones of this exiled age.
Come Holy Spirit, wisdom and truth, strengthen us, increase our faith.
Come, Holy Spirit, and renew you Spirit with us.
Amen.
Wednesday, June 11th – St. Barnabas Day
This Jesus, God raised up, that we may be witnesses Acts 2. 32
Merciful God, help us to follow the example of your faithful servant Barnabas, who seeking not his own renown, but the well being of all people, gave generously of his life for the relief of the poor and afflicted, the spreading of the Gospel and the building up of your
peace and love on earth. Amen.
Holy God, holy and mighty, Holy Immortal One, have mercy upon us. (from the ancient Trisagion)
Blessings,
