Saturday Prayers: March 10th – 11th, 2018
4th Sunday of Lent
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3.16
Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world, evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven to earth come down, fix in us thy humble dwelling, all thy faithful mercies crown, Jesus, thou art all compassion, pure, unbounded love thou art; visit us with thy salvation, enter every trembling heart. Come, almighty to deliver; let us all thy grace receive; suddenly return, and never more thy temples leave. (Charles Wesley)
Our deepest needs, Lord are for your Faith, Hope, Love and Peace; and the ability to receive and express them in all I do and say; Grant me , Lord, courage, and strength to live and express them in your name and for your sake ; Jesus be my strength and my salvation. Amen.
Pray for an end to division and conflict in the world that people may live together in peace and unity with each other to the Glory of God.
We pray Lord for all who govern the nations of the world that they may be led by your Spirit of truth and wisdom, and with courage do what is right for the benefit of all people.
We pray Lord for those who live in fear, distress and loneliness that they may be filled with your strength.
We pray Lord for the sick, the weak and the dying that they may know your power to save.
And in this Holy Season of Lent we pray Lord, that you will give us grace to amend our lives, to renew our Faith, Hope and Love and serve you in Holiness all the days of our life.
Blessings,
nnDnn Archdeacon Ron Matthewman, Vicar General Emeritus
