Saturday Prayers: March 21st – 22nd, 2020
The Fourth Sunday of Lent
I am the light of the world, says the Lord Those who follow me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life. John 8.12.
Almighty God, through the waters of Baptism your Son has made us children of light. May we walk in his light and show forth your glory in the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
Lighten our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord, and of thy great mercy keep us in the same, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Blessed are you, Lord our God, ruler of the universe! You led your people Israel by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. In these dark days of sickness and death, lead us into the brightness of a new day and set us on the right path to Light and Life Eternal. Amen
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid? Hearken to my voice, O Lord, when I call, have mercy on us and answer our prayer. (Selected words from Psalm 27}
God of earthquake, wind and fire, may we know you also in the Days of darkness sickness and death – teach us how to find your peace and healing Grace amidst the darkness and death of this plague CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19).
Lord, we pray, lay your Holy Healing Hands of Peace, Grace and Mercy upon the world. Give knowledge, strength and healing grace to the Medical Profession, Courage and strength to the sick, the weak and the dying and make us all aware of your presence with us. Amen.
Walk with us, Lord Jesus, be our strength and our salvation. Amen.
We join together, representing the whole world, as we say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, THE POWER AND THE GLORY, FOR EVER AND EVER.
AMEN, AMEN, AND AMEN.
GO IN PEACE TO LOVE AND SERVE THE LORD AND THE GOD OF PEACE WILL BE WITH YOU.
Blessings,
