 In Prayers

Fifth Sunday of Lent

I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord, whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. John 11. 25-26.

Almighty God, your Son came into the world to free us from sin and death. Breathe upon us with the power of your Spirit, that we may be raised to new life in Christ and serve you in holiness and righteousness all our days, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Be still and know that I am God. Walk with us Lord, for your mercy is great.

In these difficult days of sickness and death around the whole world, we pray for the healing grace of God to be with us: Lord Jesus, lay your holy healing hands of blessing and peace upon the sick the weak and the dying. Give to us all daily strength for our daily living. Bless with your healing grace those who minister to the sick, the weak and the dying and help us all to do our part in caring for your creation, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Walk with us Lord, for your mercy is great.

At even, when the sun was set, the sick, O Lord, around thee lay O in what divers pains they met! O with what joy they went away. Once more ‘tis eventide, and we, oppressed with various ills, draw near. What if thy form we cannot see? We know and feel that thou art here. Thy touch has still its ancient power; No word from thee can fruitless fall. Hear us in this solemn hour, may thy mercy heal us all. (Canon Henry Twells)

Walk with us Lord, for your mercy is great.

The Lord is my strength and my salvation, whom then shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid? Though an army should encamp against me, yet will I put my trust in thee. Show me your way, O Lord, lead me on the right path for thy mercies sake (Selected verses from Psalm 27)

Lord, we pray for the caregivers, for those who serve to protect and keep us safe, we pray for the sick, the weak and the dying and those who minister to them of Thy Healing Grace. We pray for those whom we love and those who love us, our families and friends and all who need your tender loving care. We pray for our leaders and those in positions of authority, for doctors, nurses and for all within the Medical Profession. May God grant us all to love one another and live to the Glory of His name. Amen.

And may the Peace and Strength of God be with you and yours in these difficult times, leading us forward day by day; We pray for our leaders and all who are in positions of authority and service. Give to us all, daily strength for our daily living, and peace at the last to the Glory of Thy Holy Name. Amen.

And may the Blessings of Peace and Love be with you all.

Blessings,

nnDnn Archdeacon Ron Matthewman, Vicar General Emeritus
