Saturday Prayers: May 18th – 19th, 2019
5th Sunday after Easter
I am the vine you are the branches. Those who believe in me, and I in them, bear much fruit. John 15. 5
Almighty God, your Son Jesus Christ is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. Give us grace to love one another and walk in the way of his commandments, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
Thou art the way: to thee alone from sin and death we flee; and those who would the Father seek must seek him, Lord, by thee. Thou art the way, the truth, the life, the rending tomb proclaims, The way to know, the truth to seek, the life to win, from whom eternal joys doth flow. (adapted from the Hymn by George Washington Doane)
Almighty God from whom all thoughts of truth, love and peace proceed, kindle we pray in the hearts of all people your peace, truth and love. Guide with your peaceable wisdom those who take council for the nations of the earth, so that, Thy Kingdom may go forward until the earth is filled with the power of truth, love and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Our Lord God, we thank you for all your care and blessings; for life, for love, for faith, for health, for laughter and fun; for family and friends; for homes and for the seasons of the year. For our ability to work, play, and share your love with relatives and friends, neighbours, community, the nation, and the world. We thank you for minds to think, the ability to share knowledge and friendship with those around us and for everything that is beautiful, good and true. But above all we thank you for giving us Jesus to be our Saviour and Friend.
May we find true happiness in pleasing you, our Creator God, and help other’s to know and share in the love of Jesus, The Saviour of the world.
Amen, Amen, and Amen.
Blessings,
