 In Prayers

The Day of Pentecost

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful; and kindle is us the fire of your love.

Almighty and ever living God, who fulfilled the promises of Easter by sending us your Holy Spirit and opening to every race and nation the way of life eternal, keep us in the unity of your Spirit, that every tongue may tell of your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Spirit of the living God, move among us all, make us one in heart and mind, make us one in love; humble, caring self-less, sharing, Spirit of the living God, fill our lives with love. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me, break me, melt me, mould me, fill me, Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. (Michael Baughen and Daniel Iverson)

Come, Holy Spirit, creator, renew the face of the earth. Come, Holy Spirit, counsellor, touch our lips that we may proclaim your word. Come, Holy Spirit, power from on high: make us agents of your peace. Come, Holy Spirit, breath of God, give new life to this age. Come, Holy Spirit make us living people, holy and free. Come, Holy Spirit, wisdom and truth: strengthen us to do your will. Come, Holy Spirit live in us, that we may live with you. Amen.

Holy Spirit strengthen us, that we may daily increase in your manifold gifts of grace and love; increase in us the spirit of wisdom and understanding; the spirit of counsel and strength; the spirit of knowledge and true godliness; and fill us, O Lord with the spirit of thy holy fear, now and for ever. Amen.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem – may they prosper that love thee. May peace be within your walls and among all people. O Spirit of God let your peace rest upon The Holy City, upon all who dwell there-in and all who visit there. Holy Triune God, let your peace, love and glory reign in the hearts of all people that we may live together in your peace;

Let the Crown of Jerusalem be a sacred blessing to us all.

Amen, Amen and Amen.

Blessings,
