Saturday Prayers: May 25th – 26th, 2019
6th Sunday after Easter
If you love me you will keep my word, and my Father will love you, and we will come to you. John 14. 23
Merciful God, you have prepared for those who love you riches beyond imagination. Pour into our hearts such love towards you, that we, loving you above all things, may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Where charity and love prevail, there God is ever found; brought here together by Christ’s love, by love we are thus bound. ‘ Forgive we now each other’s faults as we our fault confess; and let us love each other well in Christian holiness. (19th Century Latin Text)
Thursday, May 30th 2019 – The Ascension of the Lord
Go and make disciples of all nations, says the Lord, I am with you always, to the close of the age. Matthew 28. 19-20
Almighty God, your Son Jesus Christ ascended to the throne of heaven that he might rule over all things as Lord. Keep us in the unity of the Spirit and in the bond of peace, and bring the whole of creation to worship at his feet, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Hail, thou once despised Jesus! Hail, thou Galilean King! Thou didst suffer to release us, thou didst free salvation bring. Honour, Glory, Power and Blessing, thou art worthy to receive. Alleluia.
Eternal Giver of love and power, your Son Jesus Christ has sent us into the world to preach the Gospel of his kingdom. Confirm and strengthen us in this mission, and help us to live the good news we proclaim, through Jesus Christ the King of Glory. Alleluia, Amen.
Almighty God, kindle we pray, in every heart the true love of thy peace, and guide with your pure and peaceable wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth, that justice and peace may increase, and the earth is filled with the knowledge of your love and the Prince of Peace reigns in all the earth. Amen
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Alleluia, Amen. Amen, Alleluia.
Blessings,
