Saturday Prayers: May 2nd – 3rd, 2020
Fourth Sunday of Easter
I am the Good Shepherd, Says the Lord: I know my sheep and they know me. John 10. v14.
O God of peace, who brought again from the dead 0ur Lord Jesus Christ, that great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make us perfect In every good work to do your will, and work in us that which is well pleasing in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The King of Love, my shepherd is, whose goodness faileth never, I nothing lack if I am his and he is mine forever. In death’s dark vale I fear no ill with thee, dear Lord, beside me; thy rod and staff my comfort still, thy cross before to guide me. Paraphrase from Psalm 23.
Wednesday, May 6th – St. John the Evangelist
The word of the cross is the power of God to us who are being saved. 1 Corinthians 1. 18 Shed upon us O Lord the brightness of your light, that we being illuminated by the teaching of your apostle and evangelist John, may walk in the light of your truth and come at last to the fullness of eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Let Saint’s on earth in concert sing with those whose work is done, for all the servants of our King in earth and heaven are one – Charles Wesley
We continue our prayers for those suffering from COVID 19: for all who are sick, weak or dying: Heavenly Father lay your Holy Healing Hands upon those who are sick and suffering from COVID 19 and those who minister to them of God’s healing grace; Let your love and peace over shadow us all, that the world may once again rejoice in the love and peace of your incarnate word, through Jesus Christ our Lord . Amen.
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, be within me. Grant that I may be a good parent/child/relative/ friend, to all who are under my care; that I may speak your word to all among whom I live. That I may be a healer in Christ to all who are sick in mind, body or spirit. May I be a friend to all whom I meet. Grant that I may love the world you have created and rejoice in its wonder, seeing You at work, in the events of the world and in the hearts and minds of all people. Heavenly Father may I see and feel you within me, may I see you more clearly, love you more dearly and follow you more closely all my days. May the power and love of Jesus Christ be within all I do and say. Amen.
