Saturday Prayers: October 13th – 14th, 2018

 In Prayers

21st Sunday After Pentecost

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5. 3

Almighty God, in our baptism you adopted us for your own. Quicken, we pray, your Spirit within us, that we, being renewed both in body and mind, may worship you in sincerity and truth; through Jesus Christ our lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Blest are the pure in heart, for they shall see our God; the secret of the Lord is theirs, their soul is Christ’s abode. Lord, we thy presence seek; may ours this blessing be; Give us a pure and lowly heart, A temple meet for thee. (Rev. John Keble)

Monday, October 15th – St. Teresa of Avila.

On her special day we pray the prayer of St. Teresa of Avila.

Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All things are passing away; God never changes. Patience obtains all things, Whoever has God, lacks nothing. GOD ALONE SUFFICES

Thursday, October 18th – St. Luke the Evangelist.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who bring good tidings, who publish salvation. Isaiah 52. 7.

Almighty God, who inspired Luke the physician to proclaim the love and healing power of your Son, give us, by the grace of your Spirit and the medicine of the gospel, the same love and power to heal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Grant us this day, O God, Peace within ourselves, that inner tensions may be taken away. Renew within us a right spirit O Lord.

Grant us this day, O God, peace within all our relationships, so that peace may be passed on to others.

Grant us this day, O God, peace with you, so that we may know your love has forgiven us; that your grace will uphold us, and that we may dwell in your presence, this day and on into eternity. Amen

And as the General Assembly of OSMTH/SMOTJ convenes in Belgrade, Serbia in this coming week, pray for all who travel, and a Blessings on our new Officers, and that the Spirit of God may be with us to guide us and lead us in all truth.
