Saturday Prayers: October 19th – 20th, 2019
19th Sunday after Pentecost
The word of God is living and active, it sifts the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4.12
Almighty and everliving God, increase in us your gift of faith, that forsaking what lies behind, and reaching out to what is before, we may run the way of your commandments and win the crown of everlasting joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
O word of God Incarnate,
O wisdom from on high,
O Truth unchanged, unchanging,
O light of our dark sky;
We praise thee for the radiance,
that from the hallowed page is
a lantern to our footsteps
shining from age to age.
(Bishop Walsham How)
Jubilate Deo
Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands;
serve the Lord with gladness and
come before his presence with a song.
Know this: The Lord himself is God;
he himself has made us, and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise,
give thanks to him and call upon his name.
For the Lord is good, his mercy is everlasting;
and his faithfulness endures from age to age.
Let us ask the Lord to teach us to love others, as he has loved us. Let us ask the Lord for peace on earth and for peace within our own hearts and minds. Let us ask the Lord to strengthen us in his service. Let us ask the Lord for peace and justice in the world.
Guide us O Lord during the daylight hours, Protect us in the darkness of the night. Keep the people of the world in the secure presence of your peace and may we all come to know that peace which is presently beyond our understanding. Amen.
Eternal God, Lord of time and space, the source of truth and grace revealed in every heart and face, walk with us in our daily living and in the darkness of the night protect us with your gracious light. for you are our God for ever and ever. Amen.
Blessings,
