Saturday Prayers: October 27th – 28th, 2018
23rd Sunday After Pentecost
Our Saviour Jesus Christ has abolished death, and brought life and immortality through the gospel. 2 Timothy 1.10
Lord God our redeemer, who heard the cry of your people and sent your servant Moses to lead them out of slavery, free us from the tyranny of sin and death, and by the leading of your Spirit, bring us to our promised land; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
I believe in God almighty, Father of all things that be, maker of the earth and heavens, keeper of the sky and sea. I believe in God’s Son Jesus, now for us both Lord and Christ, of the Spirit and of Mary born to bring abundant life. (The Apostles Creed; para. Sylvia G Dunstan)
Monday, October 29th- St. Simon and St. Jude
You shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and In all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth. Acts. 1.8.
Almighty God, we thank you for the glorious company of the apostles, and especially on this day for Simon and Jude. As they were faithful and zealous in their mission, so may we with ardent devotion make known the love and mercy of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Thursday, November 1st. All Saints Day
They are before the throne of God, and he who sits upon the throne will shelter them with his presence. Revelation 7.15
Almighty God, whose people are knit together in one holy church, the mystical Body of your Son, grant us grace to follow your blessed saints in lives of faith and commitment, and to know the inexpressible joys you have prepared for those who love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Friday, November 2nd. All Souls Day
I am the resurrection and the life, say’s the Lord; whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. John 11. 25
Father of all, we pray to you for those we love, but see no longer. Grant them your peace, let light perpetual shine upon them, and in your loving wisdom and almighty power, work in them the good purpose of your perfect will, thought Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
On behalf of those who attended and represented OSMTH in last week’s meetings of The Order held in Serbia, we give thanks for the Blessing of God upon us. We say a big thank you to our gracious hosts The Grand Prior and Grand Priory of Serbia. We give thanks for God’s Blessing upon us, our unity of purpose; our mission accomplished. We pray for our newly appointed leaders, and office holders; asking God’s Blessing upon them, our Order and its members, as we move forward in our commitments and service to the world. Lord God of Hosts be with us as we journey in Faith, Hope and Love towards our Jerusalem on earth and that which is in heaven above. This we pray to God the Father who created us, through Jesus Christ who redeems us, and the Holy Spirit who sanctifies us and gives us strength for our journey. Amen.
Blessings,
