Saturday Prayers: September 28th – 29th, 2019
16th Sunday after Trinity
“Your word , O Lord, is truth, sanctify us in the truth” John 17. V17
Eternal God, in Jesus we behold your glory, open our hearts and minds to express your truth and peace, in family life, in the community and in all the world, to the glory of your name; through Jesus Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Lord, your word shall guide us and with truth provide us, teach us to receive it and with joy believe it. Word of mercy giving courage to the living, word of life, supplying comfort to the dying. (Henry William Baker)
Sunday, September 29th St. Michael and All Angels
Bless the Lord, all you his hosts, you ministers who do his will. Psalm 103.21
Eternal God, you have ordained and constituted in a wonderful order the ministries of angles and mortals. Grant that as your holy angels stand before you in heaven, so at your command they may help and defend us on earth, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen
Heavenly Father, we beseech thee to guide and direct all nations in the way of truth, unity and acceptance of each other, that thy people may enjoy the blessings of freedom and peace , and to all who are in positions of leadership and authority, give wisdom, truth and courage to do what is right and to the glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Go forth into the world in peace, be of good cheer, hold fast that which is good, love and serve the Lord and the God of peace will be with you.
Blessings,
nnDnn Archdeacon Ron Matthewman, Vicar General Emeritus
