 In Prayers

Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our hearts, that we may know what is the hope to which he has called us Ephesians 1. 17-18

Author and Giver of all good things, graft in our hearts the love of your name, increase in us true religion, nourish us with all goodness, and of your great mercy keep us in the same, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Labour Day Weekend

Forth in thy name O Lord, we go, our daily labours to pursue, thee, only thee, resolves to know in all we think or speak or do. The task thy wisdom hath assigned O let us cheerfully fulfil, and labour on at thy command, and do thy good and perfect will. (Charles Wesley)

We pray a Blessing on our work places, our daily labours, those we work with, and those we work for; We pray for the industry, labour and commerce of our Country and its people; those who work with their hands, and minds, the sweat of their backs and the honesty of their hearts. May all our work be done to your Glory O Lord, and for the benefit of all people. O Carpenter of Nazareth, hear our prayer.

We pray for the agricultural community for those who are working to fed the world; we pray your blessing upon the harvest of the land the sea and the air, may their be enough for all and enable us to share the good things you provide. O Sower of the seed, hear our prayer. We pray for those who work to defend us and keep us safe, the military, police service, the Medical Profession , Emergency Services, Fire Fighters, and all whose lives are dedicated to serving others. Creator and Protector of us all, hear our prayer. Amen.

Lord Jesus, we pray for all of those whose lives are affected by storms, floods, winds, fires and disasters of every nature, and those who reach out to aid, support and defend us. Protect the children, the aged and those who are not able to care for themselves; give strength and courage to those working to restore order and to feed and care for the oppressed. Lord, you know our needs before we ask and our ignorance is asking; and so we place ourselves, those whom we love, and all people in your tender care; help us all to live to your Glory; through Jesus Christ the Saviour of all. Amen.

Save us O Lord while waking and guard us while sleeping; that awake we may watch with Christ and asleep we may rest in peace. Amen.

Into your hands of Lord we commend our spirit; for you have redeemed us Lord God of Truth. Amen.
